My Skin SUCKS!!!!!
Not really, but it felt like it today
Well, my overly sensitive skin reared its ugly head. My arns began breaking out the day before yesterday. I think it started the moment we began going to the Northern parts of the country. I did not have any problems the first three days, now this. As the pictures can attest, it has gotten pretty bad and for the record, it is painful. I am trying to make it to Jerusalem so that I can go to a pharmacy or to the doctor. Judging by the way it feels tonight, if it gets any worse tomorrow, I will probably have to go to the doctor. Bummer. I had to sit out the last two sites because just standing in the sun, even with sunsreen and a scarf covering my arms, was painful. And to add insult to injury, it is on my face as well. I can;t win for losing.
I will update the rest of the day in the morning. Goodnight.

The Jordan River: Wade in the Water Children
Most excellent site. Of course, many people come here to be batized in the water, if not the actual site, where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. Our very own Semaj Vanzant decided to go all the way, and get his Methodist baptized self immersed as a symbol of his re-dedication.
Church of the Beatitudes
The Church of the Beautitudes was built on one if several sites that claim to be in the general area of where Jesus gave his famous "Sermon on the Mount." It was a beautiful site that had several groups having worship services outside at the same time. Emma and Matt led our worship service which included scripture reading, singing and prayer. After we were done, we explored the site and I wandered into the chapel where an African group was leading worship. The singing was so moving that it brought me to tears, I didn't undersatnd a word they were saying, (it sounded like Latin for slow songs and what sounded like an African dialect for the more up beat songs) but I felt the Holy Spirit moving all through that space. It was awesome to witness.
Church of Saint Peter
Capernaum: Sat this one out.
I did not go into this site, but I believe that it is supposed to be the home of the Apostle Peter and a site where later pilgrims used it as ann early church. There is a modern church built over the ancient ruins. Thank you Jimmy for taking the pictures.
Sepphoris: Had to sit this one out too. Dang!!!
I decided to continue to be cautious with my skin and sit this site out too. It turns out, according to Semaj, that it was mainly an inside excursion, so I was doubly upset because I heard that there were beautiful murals here. Dang, dang, dang-doogaly-dang! I sat in the bus chronicling my skin malady instead. Enjoy the disgusting pictures.
